Learn about the wines in our March 2021 Estate Club release
It’s wine club release time again, and we’ve got some great wines for our Estate Club members this quarter! Each quarter, we try to feature a new release for our Club members and our March release is no exception. We’ll be featuring our new 2019 Chardonnay Reserve, which we think will be a huge hit for fans of oaked Chardonnays.
Since we have not been able to do our traditional tastings during the pandemic (we do offer self-guided tasting flights), we decided to post some video tasting notes from our winemaker, Mark Misch. It’s our way of bringing you closer to the winemaking process here at Ingleside.
The following wines will make up our March 2021 release for 3 bottle mixed members (other memberships will receive a variation on these wines):
1) Chardonnay Reserve 2019 – NEW RELEASE
With hints of green apple complementing a delicate touch of cocoa, this wine has a nose that develops with time. The palate presents with focused acidity that balances the density, and does well to keep the peace between the two. Pair this wine with chicken, smoked salmon and fresh oysters.
After fermentation in oak barrels, this Chardonnay was aged in a combination of new and neutral French oak for 10 months. It then received 6 months of bottle aging.
2) Rosato di Sangiovese 2019
With spring on the way, it’s time to start stocking your fridge with those “go-to” wines for enjoying on the deck or patio and our Rosato is the perfect choice. This dry rosè was made from 100% Sangiovese. Opening with a bouquet of raspberries and crushed rose petals, it has a palate with both refreshing acidity and nice length. This Rosato will pair with duck, cheese and just relaxing on the patio. This wine received a Gold medal in the 2020 Savor Virginia Wine Competition.
3) Right Bank 2018
This hand crafted, Bordeaux-style blend was inspired by wines produced on the right bank of the Gironde River in Bordeaux, France. These wines are traditionally Merlot-based blends with a soft, rich mouthfeel and complex red berry fruit aromas. Our version is inspired by that profile while reflecting the true nuances of Virginia terroir. It was made from 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. This wine received a Silver medal in the 2020 Savor Virginia Wine Competition.
